Known by the callsign “Dubok”, he began his combat career in 2015 in a Mortar Battery as part of the Artillery Battalion of the Azov Regiment. He fought in fierce battles in Shyrokyne, Maryinka, Krasnohorivka, and along the Svitlodarsk Axis.
At the start of the full-scale invasion, he held the position of chief of staff of the howitzer-artillery division. He was a key participant in the 86-day defense of Mariupol. After his release from captivity, he established the Artillery Group of the Azov Brigade, which distinguished itself in the Zaporizhzhia sector, in the Serebryansky Forestry, and near Toretsk. His experience commanding units at the brigade level laid the foundation for his appointment as chief of staff of the brigade and, later, as commander of the 8th Artillery Brigade “Garmash.”
He was awarded the Order “For Courage” in full. His other awards include the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, 3rd Class; the “For Fortitude” and “Silver Cross” decorations; the “Military Honor Cross”; and the “For the Defense of Ukraine” commemorative badge, as well as the “Defender of Mariupol” commemorative badge.
