The brigade was formed in 2004 from existing aviation and helicopter squadrons of the navy in Saky, Crimea.
2014 the brigade evacuated all the functioning equipment in a regime of radio silence to Mykolaiv.
2022 their patron and former commander died during an operation near Snake Island.
