2nd Rifle Battalion is a unit of the Territorial Defense Forces, currently under the command of 109th Brigade of Territorial Defense. The battalion was originally formed as 426th Rifle Battalion on the basis of the Donetsk Regional Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center.
As part of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the 426th Separate Rifle Battalion specializes in executing combat missions assigned to the military unit, including participation in defensive, offensive, stabilization, and special operations within the territory of Ukraine.
Since June 14, 2023, the 426th Separate Rifle Battalion has been engaged in assault operations in coordination with units of the 24th Assault Battalion, operating within the structure of the 5th Assault Brigade on the Bakhmut front. Despite being subjected to sustained and concentrated enemy fire from small arms, grenade launchers, mortars, and artillery, the battalion’s units successfully carried out both offensive assaults and defensive operations in the designated area.
In early 2025, the core of the 48th Assault Battalion transferred to the battalion. In September 2025, the battalion was reformed as 2nd Separate Rifle Battalion

Here you can find the last known structure of the unit, including their insignia if available.
