255th Territorial Defense Battalion

The unit was established on March 10, 2023, as part of the 123rd Territorial Defense Brigade. Its core was formed by experienced soldiers, sergeants, and officers who had already taken part in the Anti-Terrorist Operation and the battles that began with Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022.

In 2023, the battalion carried out combat orders during stabilization operations in Chernihiv region.

At the beginning of 2024, it took up defensive positions on the right bank of the Dnipro River in Kherson region.

In the autumn of 2024, the unit fought in Donbas, particularly in the Vuhledar sector.

As of 2025, the battalion is holding the line in the South, doing everything possible to destroy the enemy by all available means.

In August, 2025, the battalion was transferred to the 122nd Territorial Defense Brigade and was reformed into the 7th battalion of the brigade and ceased to exist as a separate unit.
