About Unit

73rd Naval Special Operations Center, also known as Special Operations Center South, is a specialized unit within the Special Operations Forces. It was originally established as the 7th Special Purpose Brigade of the Ukrainian Navy. In 2010, the unit was reorganized and renamed the 73rd Naval Special Operations Center.

On the eve of Russia full-scale invasion, the soldiers took up positions at Kulbakyne airfield near Mykolaiv and prevented the landing of Russian airborne troops.
