About Unit

28th Regiment of Key Facilities Protection, part of the Ukrainian National Guard, is responsible for safeguarding the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant. Originally established in 2014 as the 1st Battalion of Key Facilities Protection, when the unit was transferred from the structure of Internal Troops. In 2024, the battalion was reorganized and expanded into the 28th Regiment.
