Special Reconnaissance Team “Kilo” is a unit of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine.
The unit was established in late 2022, under the International Legion for the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, as the Kilo Reconnaissance Team.
It consists of volunteers from multiple nationalities, including Ukrainian, American, Finnish, German, French, British, Canadian, Brazilian, Italian, Danish, South Korean, and Czech.
Recon Team Kilo took part in the Battle of Bakhmut in early 2023, conducting reconnaissance and direct action operations aimed at pushing Russian forces out of the area, often working in coordination with other foreign volunteer formations.
In early 2024, the unit officially departed the structure of the International Legio and was placed directly under the command of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine as part of the Main Intelligence Directorate.
