About Unit
Operational Strategic Group Tavria was a unit of the Ground Forces of Ukraine, originally formed as Operational Strategic Group Kherson in November 2022. The tactical group had variable composition.
In July 2024, Brig. Gen. Oleksandr Tarnavskyi was dismissed from command, and Maj. Gen. Andriy Kovalchuk was appointed in his place. Shortly after, the group was disbanded and the Southern Defense Forces group was formed on its basis.
