About Unit

3rd Motorized Battalion was a separate unit of the Ground Forces of Ukraine. The battalion was formed in March 2014 as 3rd Battalion of Territorial Defense Volya from the residents of Lviv Oblast. In November 2014, the unit was reformatted into a motorized battalion and assigned to 24th Motorized Brigade. In 2018, the battalion was reformed into a linear motorized battalion of 24th Mechanized Brigade and ceased to exist as a separate entity.
