3rd Mechanized Company

3rd Mechanized Company, also known as “Karakurt Colony”, is a company of the 2nd Mechanized Battalion of the 3rd Assault Brigade.

The company was established between August 2022 and January 2023, participating in many of the battles of the brigade. In July 2023, following the brigade’s counterattack in the Bakhmut direction, the commander of the battalion, known by the callsign “Var”, was promoted to the battalion’s commander.

The unit was known to have participated in the liberation of Nadiya in late March 2025 in Luhansk Oblast.

Insignia

The insignia is consistent with the rest of the brigade, using a pointed chevron. At the bottom of the insignia are runes inscribed for the abbreviation of the unit “Karakurt Colony”. The central imagery of the insignia display a spider crawling up a spider web that is arched from the bottom left to the top right of the chevron.
