About Unit

39th Motorized Battalion was a separate unit of the Ground Forces of Ukraine. The battalion was formed in May 2014 as 39th Battalion of Territorial Defense Dnipro-2 from the residents of Dnipro Oblast. In November 2014, the unit was reformatted into a motorized battalion under the command of 55th Artillery Brigade.

In 2016, guards battalion of 55th Artillery Brigade was formed on its basis and the unit ceased to exist as a separate entity.
