About Unit

The 39th Tactical Aviation Brigade is a military unit of the Air Force, and currently under the command of Air Command Center. The unit is based in Ozerne, Zhytomyr Oblast, and has been long operating with ex soviet Su-27 twin engine fighter jets and Aero L-39 Albatros jet trainers.

On March 9, 2026, Colonel Oleksandr Dovhach — commander of the 39th Tactical Aviation Brigade and a Hero of Ukraine, was killed in action on the eastern front, under conditions of significant enemy air superiority and strong resistance from enemy air defense systems.
