Unmanned systems units within the Ground Forces are the most advanced in the entire structure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Dedicated units of unmanned systems across most formations carry out tasks such as reconnaissance and striking enemy targets, delivering ammunition, evacuating personnel, transporting weapons, and safeguarding valuable assets.

Special Troops are forces designated to support the combat activities of the Armed Forces and to carry out their specific tasks. These include formations of reconnaissance, communications troops, electronic warfare forces, engineering troops, troops specializing in radiation, chemical, and biological protection, railway troops, topogeodetic, hydrographic, and hydrometeorological units.
