Zelenskyy replaced the commander of the Ground Forces
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appointed Maj. Gen. Mykhailo Drapaty as the new commander of the Ground Forces, replacing Lt. Gen. Oleksandr Pavlyuk. Drapaty previously commanded the Operational Tactical Group Luhansk. In 2024, he was credited with successfully organizing the defense of Kharkiv and halting an enemy offensive in the region, according to the president.
Colonel Pavlo Palisa, the commander of the 93rd Mechanized Brigade, has been appointed as the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, led by Andrii Yermak.
In addition, Col. Oleh Apostol, commander of the 95th Air Assault Brigade, has been appointed deputy commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, succeeding Lt. Gen. Anatoly Bargilevich.
