Ukrainian servicemen were taken into captivity

Eight Ukrainian soldiers were captured by Pro-Russian forces in Donetsk region when a truck driver took a wrong turn.

The group of soldiers was captured on the morning of May 22, 2019 near Novotroits’ke, Donetsk Region. Ukrainian truck, for currently unknown reasons, didn’t make a turn to Volnovahka but went straight to the position of the enemy.

According to Ukrainian social media, the soldiers were either from 53rd Mechanized Brigade or 35th Marine Brigade.

A statement released by Ukrainian Military says they weren’t on a combat mission and it was a human mistake. They have also launched an investigation of the event and reached Pro-Russian forces to release the Ukrainian soldiers.
