48th Battalion Call for Commander’s Reinstatement

Fighters of the 48th Assault Battalion demand to protect their combat unit and keep their commander.

The soldiers of the 48th Assault Battalion named after Noman Çelebicihan have issued a public appeal to highlight the critical situation affecting their unit. Recently, the battalion was redeployed from one intense combat zone to another—Pokrovsk. In their public statement, the soldiers revealed that they were given no time to rest, nor was the unit allowed to replenish and recover from prior engagements. Despite this, the battalion followed orders and took up positions without the necessary intelligence support. Simultaneously, their commander, Lenur Islyamov, was removed from his role and replaced by an outsider to the unit.

Public appeal of the battalion

Lenur Islyamov was not only the commander but also the founder of the battalion, having personally recruited 90% of its servicemen, all of whom voluntarily joined the unit. The battalion primarily consists of highly motivated fighters from Crimea and other occupied territories.

The public appeal emphasizes that changing the commander at such a critical moment poses a serious threat to the unit’s combat readiness and erodes the trust of its soldiers. The battalion has called on authorities to halt the process and reinstate their previous commander.

A few days ago, servicemen from the 114th Tactical Aviation Brigade issued a public appeal addressing the reassignment of the brigade’s aviation technicians to infantry roles.

What the hell is the Ukrainian high command doing?

Dobbsie

So what does  Lenur Islyamov have to say? For that matter, what does anybody have to say? Pokrovsk is a hot sector, but did the battalion go into the line in Pokrovsk or into the reserve? Are they under a brigade’s command or just hanging out there on their own? My point is that anyone can make a video asserting anything they want- publishing it before investigating it just creates angst.

By the time the investigation is over, they may not be there to tell the story any more

Cant these people understand that as long as Zelensky and Syrskyi is in power nothing big will change and they will head to defeat? how can they watch their army being mismanaged like that? if they really want to win they gotta change this yesterday otherwise they accepted that they dont want to win

Sic transit gloria mundi… but as of now El Presidente’s rule is undisputed. Well, there is a certain general-in-exile, but he’s keeping silence. Maybe future president-of-peace. But if Ze gets too annoying, there might be yet another maidan

I personally knew Lenur Islyamov from my time in Ukraine. He is a Crimean Tatar. About 10 years ago, he had established a military camp in the Kherson region near a crossing point (Chongar I think) between mainland Ukraine and Crimea. I didn’t know he was the commander of the 48th Assault Battalion. Does anybody know why he was removed?
