Operation Report is a summary of what happened in Joint Forces Operation Zone (previously known as Anti-Terrorist Operation zone or ATO) during the last week.
Casualties
September 2, 2019
- Protsenko Andriy (36th Marine Corps Brigade) a senior soldier. He was seriously wounded by a sniper near Vodyane and died the following hour.
September 4, 2019
- Shakhov Eduard (Azov Regiment) a paramedic. He was wounded by a sniper near Horlivka (Zaitsevo area) and died in Bakhmut hospital the same day.
September 5, 2019
- Tkachyshyn Mykhaylo (53rd Mechanized Brigade) a sergeant. He was killed by a sniper while performing a patrol near Horlivka.

Military
Ukraine and Russia exchange prisoners
On June 7, 2019 a Ukrainian plane landed in Moscow and Russian plane in Kyiv marking the final step in prisoners exchange. Ukrainian and Russian governments agreed to exchange 35 prisoners on each side. The deal includes all 24 Ukrainian sailors captured at Kerch Strait in November 2018 and 11 political prisoners. Russia, in exchange, received 35 political prisoners and persons connected to separatists, including the ex-commander of anti-aircraft defence and major witness of the downing of MH-17, which Ukrainian Special Forces captures behind enemy lines.
According to Ukrainian media, 227 people remain in Russian prisons and 70 soldiers are still missing in action.
Azov Regiment advances forward
A unit of Azov Regiment captured an abandoned positions of the enemy at Svidlodarsk area. The trenches, dag out 600 meters away, were used by the enemy to shell Ukrainian positions.
