He Jerome, how many different variations do you have with “attack was repulsed” sentence. Appreciate the efforts in your content!
According to Deepstatemap, the Russians have captured the small Sakko i Vantsetti settlement. I tried to verify the information but could not find any other source – even a Russian one – to confirm this. Strange…
This is true, but that settlement consists of 2 houses and 3 inhabitants so that’s why it was not worth mentioning.
Trust me, even the smallest of the smallest is usually mentioned.
Colonelcassad and Wargonzo (Russian TG) report Wagner units ‘have approached’ it
Exactly, and approached does not mean captured.
Hi Jerome. Would it be okay with you to censor comments that involve insults to other members and to you? A lot of us were coming here for being a quite place away from the fog of war. Lately it is becoming full of insults and aggressiveness by some recently arrived members (I wont say the names but it is quite obvious).
Yes, I’ll keep an eye on it and think about possible solutions in the meanwhile. I apologize for not monitoring it enough.
The situation is getting convoluted. Ukraine is in total war footing scraping the barrel when it comes to manpower while Russia is just at its 1st mobilization wave. Call me a concern troll, but NATO needs to directly intervene and kick the fucking Russians back to 1991 borders before Ukraine becomes a Russian oblast.
I agree, just sending 9 modern tanks isn’t going to change anything. Only the full force of NATO can beat Russia and their proxies out of Ukraine. Time for Oluja
It will be good preparation for the 2nd front that will soon open in Taiwan. The new Axis of China, Russia and Iran is gearing up for world war while NATO is still debating sending jets and tanks. We can’t let them get the upper hand, not again, NATO needs to be prepared for the worst, right now.
This is our 1937 moment
lol,
@ Waterloo — how is Ukraine “scraping the barrel when it comes to manpower”? My information indicates that there is still a waiting-list for males to join the Ukrainian Army and TDF. And unlike with Russian Army, these Ukrainian recruits actually go thru basic training (both inside Ukraine and abroad).
Do you have any source for your comment? Thanks
Chris, are you a native speaker of Ukrainian or Russian? Look at the telegram channels of Ukrainian cities to see how the mobilization is going
Ukraine would never admit to it, for good reason, but there are many videos in Ukrainian and Russian Telegram channels showing military recruiters quite literally dragging people off the street and handing them their military summons while the poor sod can only scream. While it’s still a better way to raise troops compared to the Wagner Penal Battalion it shows that there are problems.
I can send you links to the Lviv and Kyiv telegram channels where videos like this is posted regularly, if you’d like.
If NATO joins in it’s game over, they become a direct part of the conflict. That means the world future is at stake. Also I am not sure Even if NATO intervene that they will be able to achieve something significant. The Russian made many mistakes at the beginning indeed, but they seem to show they have learnt their lesson. And currently the Ukranian and Russian army is the most experienced one.
So throw in troops that never saw war in their lives or troops that are used to fight talibans. I think they are up for a massive blow by the oiled Russian military. Then you have the people in Europe. They will come on the streets at start general protests. I don’t see it happening. Too many people died in this war, I have the feeling that by the end of the year it will… Read more »
NATO is very much prepared and ready to throw your Russian Army back to the Moskal Rus age right now. Don’t tempt us.
We are part of the “us”. I am just looking realistically. NATO can’t win vs Russia in Ukraine in conventional conflict.

93rd is back in Bakhmut
Why doesn’t Jerome update the map? Accoridng to liveuamap Russia has made big gains which Jerome doesn’t even talk about. Even if it is painful, if something is true then it’s true
1) what big gains ?
2) is there any visual proof and/or confirmations ?
Eh? liveuamap is a western source website. They are anything but pro Russian. It’s like that tweet from Ukrainian who said “If I give you an honest picture of what goes on in Bakhmut they will call me a Russian troll.” And it’s funny how people here were ridiculing Russia saying they will never capture Bakhmut when now it’s only a matter of days before Ukraine will retreat since siege is imminent
Tristan is a Troll of the german green party, he has to write such things
Liveuamap is not reliable, jerome said so several times.
I really want to have an honest picture of what goes on in Bakhmut. “Honest” doesn’t mean “whatever the rumors say”. So, if you have any confirmed information regarding the “big gains”, please share (with the like to your source). Thank you.
It’s not reliable because Jerome says so? Okay, what are the sources for it not being reliable?
Jerome provided verifiable reasons, you might want to check out.
They are not reliable because they want to update their map almost in real time. The more often the updates, the more likely the mistakes.
It’s fine, they do map correction when a mistake is spotted, but don’t yell at Jerome because he prefers to draw his map based on confirmed information.
Which gains?
Nearing the outskirts of Ivaniske and advancing northwest of Blagodatne
Big gains? Based on liveuamap? Come on 😉 Frontline situation will be cleared soon based on verified and geolocated footage, so what’s the point to rely on some rumours.
The big gains you’re talking about (and are marked on the mentioned site) are based on Ukrainian General Staff (UAGA), but in direct conflict with geolocated footage. UAGA sometimes report “in the area of”, but it’s actually “in direction of”.
I’m just connecting dots, relying on more sources, geolocations and trying to make sense of it, including terrain, treelines and such.
It’s looking dire for Ukraine. NATO plus Japan, South Korea, Australia and NZ need to finally get involved and finally kick Russia out of Ukraine. This can’t go on for ever
Begging for WW3 is a bit steep. Let’s hope Ukraine and Russia will strike a peace deal instead.
Agreed, but only one where Ukraine keeps its 1991 borders
I doubt Russia will give up Crimea, the best peace deal Ukraine can aim for is to concede Crimea and grant autonomy in the donbass.
Sad, even heartbreaking, but true.
They need to stop arguing and finally send good material (tanks and IFV, but also F16 jets) in significant quantity.
Ramstein, 10 days ago, was a good start. But Ukraine need 3 times more material to crush the russian. Western countries have it. what is missing is the political will to do so.
The problem is not in Russia, but in the government of Ukraine. According to Bill Gates, this is one of the worst governments in the world.
yes, Selensky and his friend use the billions of german help money to buy very expensive houses in european cities and their children who lives in west cities are called the party brigade. only the normal ucraine ppl die there in the mud. not the boys of the “government”
Yeah – just keep up the ruzzian propaganda.
Ukraine does not get any money directly. It goes to the weapon manufacturers of USA, UK and EU.
YOU REALLY NEED TO DO MORE RESEARCH. DEAR GIRL!
take a look here, https://www.bundesfinanzministerium.de/Content/DE/Downloads/Internationales-Finanzmarkt/G7/g7-meeting-bonn-koenigswinter-communique-en.pdf?__blob=publicationFile&v=14
direct budgethelp … maybe you should not believe to much in ucraine propaganda and do some more research, dear boy
COLIN’s statement is verifiable in its original context which was about military aid: no payments going to Ukraine. Eleonora’s later statement on direct money is correct (https://www.auswaertiges-amt.de/en/aussenpolitik/laenderinformationen/ukraine-node/ukraine-solidarity/2513994) while “her” earlier claim that Ukrainian elites “use the billions of German money” needs proofs (please provide) …
… claim that Ukrainian elites “use the billions of German money” needs proofs (please provide) but seems improbable given the detailed government account (sry only PDF in German) https://www.bundesregierung.de/resource/blob/997532/2155792/c3dbab706421f63d3d612091e7ecad4c/2022-12-27-unterstuetzung-ukraine-breg-data.pdf
lists remarkably diverse and pretty direct aid partly given in money.
just a small proof, even by the ucrainians themself, but when you look for more you will find enough, https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2023/jan/30/ukraine-war-with-corruption-putin-resignations-russia
Thank you. Just to quote from your source, “The narrative that Ukraine is a basket case, unreformable and utterly corrupted, has long been a Kremlin propaganda narrative. … even in a time of war, Ukrainian independent media and civil society are working to expose corruption.”
Source : “Trust me, bro”
Special thanks to : Whataboutism.
You can see where Putin is : in his bunker, afraid of missiles in Moscow.
Ukraine has a big problem with corruption (partially inherited from USSR), at least, they didn’t invade a country, kill civilians and threaten the world for the “glory of motherland”
The problem is not in Russia ==> Is it fascination, greed or fear ?
hmmm? all what you write is wrong and the accuse of whataboutism is just what the greenleft use when they have no points anymore, so it seems i was right
Nah – that is the UK Tory government.
true, with an hooray in the nuclear apocolypse, you must be a typicall social justice warrior without children
Is the river near Blahodatne called Bakhmutka or Bakhmutovka?
Google says Bakhmutovka.
Indeed 🙂 It is just Wiki which says https://uk.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%91%D0%B0%D1%85%D0%BC%D1%83%D1%82%D0%BA%D0%B0
I think it’s time to concede Opytne. It hasn’t been in the General Staff’s lists of shellings and repelled attacks for a while now, which probably means Russian claims to have captured it are true.
The 93rd has been redeployed to Bakhmut, i have sent you some proof on twitter
