This information was revealed on the r/UkraineForeignLegion subreddit, a subreddit that is used by prospective volunteers who are interested in joining the fight, and for units to post recruitment advertisements, with a representative of the brigade mentioning that they have now begun the recruitment of foreign volunteers.

The representative stated that they are offering positions in the artillery unit, ranging from artillery crewmen to howitzers, to mortars, and many other rear-line support roles such as technicians, drivers, construction workers, and more.

About the Brigade

26th Artillery Brigade was formed in 2004 on the basis of 62nd Mechanized Brigade, and absorbed artillery units of 8th Army Corps. In March 2014, following Russian annexation of Crimea, the brigade was deployed to the border with Crimea, and was later deployed to Donbas.

The then Ukrainian Ground Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, awarding artillerymen and representatives of the engineering and sapper units conducting operations in the Bakhmut direction, November 4, 2023.

At the onset of the full-scale invasion, the brigade was rapidly deployed to eastern Ukraine, and they have fought in Severodonetsk, Bakhmut, Horlivka, Chernihiv, and Kharkiv directions. They also defended the town of Izyum and Lyman, and took part in offensive operations from September to October 2022 in Kharkiv Oblast.

In July 2025, the brigade was known to be assigned to the 16th Army Corps of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, one of the better-structured corps formed on the basis of highly experienced officers from the 92nd Assault Brigade.
