Achilles becomes a separate drone regiment

The Achilles Battalion of Unmanned Systems from the 92nd Assault Brigade has been expanded into a regiment. The change was announced through the unit’s official social media accounts and website. It has been designated as the 429th and is now known as the 429th Separate Regiment of Unmanned Systems. The regiment remains in the structure of the Ground Forces of Ukraine.

“ACHILLES” began as a volunteer rifle company in the 128th Battalion of the 112th Territorial Defense Brigade on February 24, 2022. It later integrated drones for reconnaissance and artillery support, participating in the Kharkiv counteroffensive alongside the 92nd Assault Brigade.

On January 26, 2023, it became one of the first strike UAV companies in the 92nd Assault Brigade. Due to its high combat effectiveness, it was later expanded into a battalion.
