167th Mechanized Brigade Unveils Insignia and Commander

The newly formed 167th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Ground Forces has officially unveiled its new insignia, commander and other details as the unit continues its formation.

In May 2026, MilitaryLand reported on the formation of several new mechanized brigades during the tenure of former Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi. These included the 50th Mechanized Brigade and the 167th Mechanized Brigade. Other newly formed mechanized brigades have since been revealed, including the 55th and 76th Mechanized Brigades. All remain in the process of formation.

According to the brigade’s website, 167.army, numerous vacancies are currently available, including positions in combat units, technical specialties, logistics, provisions and support.

Several brigade servicemen have begun training with unmanned systems units and are scheduled to receive awards during a ceremony on August 12, 2026. This will likely mark the brigade’s first unit to be deployed to the front line. The ceremony was publicized on the brigade’s Facebook page.

The ceremony also noted the establishment of an Unmanned Systems Battalion within the brigade’s structure, suggesting that recruitment and the formation process are progressing. According to the brigade’s website, recruitment remains open for positions across combat units, technical specialties, logistics and support.

Insignia

The brigade’s official Facebook page also revealed its insignia, which has been redrawn in high quality exclusively for MilitaryLand.

The new insignia features a traditional chevron with a blue border and an olive-green field. At its center is a golden lion.

According to the brigade’s website, the lion represents courage, dignity and indomitability. It symbolizes those who stand their ground, support their comrades and see things through to the end.

Commander

The brigade is commanded by Colonel Mykhailo Solyarevich, who previously served as deputy commander of the 68th Airmobile Brigade. His appointment was revealed by a gift certificate obtained by MilitaryLand.
