He joined the military in 2016, beginning his service in the 503rd Marine Battalion, which was garrisoned in the city of Mariupol. Until 2019, he served, taking part in combat operations in the Mariupol direction. In 2020, he joined the Azov Regiment of the Ukrainian National Guard. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, on February 25, 2022, he returned from training to the city to defend against the advancing enemy. He would be wounded while repelling a tank attack and evacuated by helicopter. In March 2023, he became the commander of the 1st Company of the 1st Special Purpose Battalion of the brigade, and later rose to the deputy commander of the battalion in 2024. In September 2025, he became the commander of the 3rd International Battalion, replacing Yurii Chekh, callsign “Karl”.
