Nazariy Kishak joined the “Ivano-Frankivsk” Special Purpose Battalion in 2014, serving as a volunteer until 2019 and fighting near Mariupol, Avdiivka, and Marinka. At the start of the full-scale invasion, he formed and led a volunteer unit that became a machine-gun platoon in the 72nd Mechanized Brigade. In 2024, he became commander of the reconnaissance company in the 153rd Mechanized Brigade and later led a combined detachment on the Kharkiv front. By year’s end, his unit was reassigned to the 91st Anti-Tank Battalion, which he officially took command of in January 2025.
