Known by the callsign “Kaban,” he joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces in December 2013 after studying at the Lviv State University of Life Safety, signing his contract in January 2014. Serving in a transport aviation brigade, he witnessed the events of Maidan from service and observed Ukrainian aircraft evacuating from Crimea to his airfield, later providing rear-area logistical support during the war in eastern Ukraine. After returning to civilian life in 2017, he rejoined following the full-scale invasion in 2022, joining the Azov Special Operations Regiment “Kyiv” and taking part in the defense of Kyiv before redeploying towards the Zaporizhzhia axis in efforts related to Mariupol. He later became a company commander in the 1st Assault Battalion of the 3rd Assault Brigade, participating in the Bakhmut campaign, before moving to the Head of the Operations Department role, as Chief of Planning. Following the creation of the 3rd Army Corps, he served as Deputy Chief of Staff, helping establish corps-level planning structures, and later assumed command of the 60th Mechanized Brigade.
