Revanche joins International Legion

The Revanche Tactical Group, a subordinate of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine, has officially announced that it has joined the International Legion of HUR MO. This announcement was made through the unit’s official Telegram channel and other social media platforms.

About Revanche

Revanche was formed on February 28, 2022, several days following the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, and consisted of local volunteers in and around the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast, including Special Forces veterans from the war in Donbas. They were immediately deployed to defend the capital and the neighbouring areas on March 2, 2022, participating in the battles of Moschun and Hostomel. Since then, they were deployed to Sumy, Kharkiv, and southern Ukraine, and eventually Chasiv Yar.

It was first indicated that Revanche had joined the International Legion in early July 2025, with its fighters partaking in an assault mission with units of the 5th Squadron, consisting of the Phantom Black Company and the 5050 Assault Group. This squadron is composed primarily of Spanish and English-speaking volunteers. This has now been confirmed with the aforementioned announcement by the unit. The unit is also known to be subordinated to the 3rd Squadron of the International Legion, according to MilitaryLand sources, which is predominantly composed of ethnic Ukrainian fighters. Notably, the subunits include Vincere Malum and the Young Killers Group, which have recently been identified to be part of the squadron.

Foreigners in Revanche

Revanche already has its own contingent of foreigners within its ranks. This contingent, known as Revanche International, was formed in January 2025, with foreigners previously serving in the ranks as early as 2023.

Since then, some units have transferred to join the contingent, including the Advanced Death Assault Group, now Advanced Company, composed predominantly of Brazilian and other Portuguese-speaking volunteers, making it one of the only Portuguese-speaking units in Ukraine alongisde the Serpent Company of the 1st Rifleman International Battalion of the 3rd Assault Brigade which we reported on back in May 2025.

Additionally, the Brennus Platoon, consisting of French volunteers and previously part of the Anti-Tank Battalion of the 3rd Assault Brigade, also joined the contingent reforming as the Aggressive Group, acting as the unit’s reconnaissance force. This group consists of French volunteers with ties to the Centuria Movement. Many other nationalities, including Scottish, Finnish, English, American, and more, are serving in the ranks of Revanche.
