Chosen Company was an international volunteer unit part of the 49th Special Purpose Detachment, part of the Ukrainian Security Service.
The unit was initially formed as the 312th Volunteer Company, a formerly Swedish unit. It was led by Swedish veteran Edvard Selander Patrigani, until he was killed in action on July 18, 2022. Following this, the unit was relocated to the Kherson direction and reorganized under the 126th Territorial Defense Brigade.
Since 2023, the unit has been reorganised and renamed to Chosen Company and became part of the 59th Motorized Brigade. Their first major operation was the Ukrainian counteroffensive in the summer of 2023, where they fought heavily in the Donetsk direction, famously at Pervoamiske near Avdiivka, where they had sustained massive casualties, being regarded as their bloodiest operation.
In late 2024, a contingent of the unit split off and joined the 3rd Assault Brigade as part of its Reconnaissance Battalion, forming Tempest Group.
On May 26, 2025, the commander of Chosen Company, Ryan O’Leary, announced the disbandment of the unit alongside his intentions to resign from Ukrainian military service entirely with his subordinates. The official statement has not yet been given.
