307th Disciplinary Battalion is a unit of the Ukrainian Military Police.
It was fully integrated into the Military Police in June 2003. Its purpose is to reform and re-educate convicts in the spirit of an honest attitude to work, and utilize them for military service, and more.
Between the time of its creation and the beginning of the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine, it was reported by Militarnyi that it was the only correctional, disciplinary unit in the entirety of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, with several court documents showing ordinary civilians also being sent to disciplinary units to correct them for their previous wrongdoings.
Following the full-scale invasion, like other disciplinary units that were subsequently formed, the unit has been serving on the frontline, completing combat missions.
Insignia
The insignia depicts a chevron with a grey silver border and a red canvas, the colors used by the Ukrainian Military Police. Its central imagery depicts a fasces symbol, used in the context of discipline and justice within the military, with two crossed keys behind it, to invoke the idea of a correctional unit reforming punished individuals.
