Right Sector Reactivates More Sotnyas

In late June 2025, MilitaryLand reported that the paramilitary wing of the Ukrainian political party, Right Sector, had resumed active operations. This wing, officially known as the Ukrainian Volunteer Corps, has played a significant role in defending Ukraine since the early stages of hostilities in the Donbas. It was composed entirely of volunteers driven by strong nationalist ideals and emerged as a response to the initial lack of well-organized military forces to combat separatists in eastern Ukraine.

Additional Reserve Sotnyas Reactivating

The resurgence of the organization in 2025 marks a notable development within the volunteer community. It became known that the 2nd, 16th, and 20th Sotnyas were being reactivated, with the announcement that they would officially resume operations and actively recruit as of late June 2025. As a continuation of the reserve forces revival, on August 1, 2025, the Ukrainian Volunteer Corps announced via its official Facebook page that the 10th Sotnya is also being reactivated, being located in Rivne Oblast.

The announcement outlined a clear call for motivated and committed volunteers, with a recruitment message emphasizing faithfulness to the Ukrainian nation, discipline, and a readiness to undergo combat training to defend Ukrainian soil. Notably, the 10th Sotnya retains its historical insignia, much like the other sotnyas, continuing the legacy of the volunteer formation. It contains symbology of both the corps and Rivne Oblast alike.

Moreover, the 6th Sotnya, located in Ternopil Oblast, western Ukraine, has also started the process of reactivation. While the process has begun, they have not yet fully reactivated their headquarters or command staff like other reserve units, and this will be completed in the near future. The Ukrainian Volunteer Corps stated this on their official Facebook channel.

Meanwhile, on July 17, 2025, a significant ceremony was held for the new fighters of the 2nd Sotnya of the wing, which is currently being formed in Lviv, and had its headquarters and command staff become fully operational, with Roman Zayets, call sign “Lev,” being appointed as the commander. During this event, recruits took oaths of loyalty to God, Ukraine, and their fallen comrades and previous generations.

The event, posted on the wing’s official Facebook, was also attended by representatives of the wing from various oblasts, including Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Rivne, and Volyn, reflecting the broad regional support for these actions. This development now marks the appearance of four reserve Sotnyas being reactivated, three located in western Ukraine, Rivne, Lviv, and Chernivtsi Oblasts, and one in north-eastern Ukraine in Sumy Oblast.

Interesting why now ?

If I had to guess, perhaps linked to the previous restructure/branding of the 67th brigade back towards Right Sector and the volunteer corps. So it all makes a comeback in to the scene to be visible
