Patrol boats from US arrived to Odesa

Two former boats of US Coast Guard were delivered to Odesa in Ukraine. The boats are expected to join the fleet after trials.

Sloviansk (P190) and Starobilsk (P191), two Island-class vessels arrived on October 21 to their new homeport in Odesa. Ukraine Navy received from the US as a gift, the Ukrainian government only paid for the transport and training.

  • Built in late ’80s for US Coast Guard
  • The market price is $25 million per ship
  • 16 – 18 sailors, including three officers
  • Up to 54 km/h

If ships successfully pass the trails, Ukraine plans to make a deal with US for four more ships of the same class.
