Operation Report 2019 – Week #22

Operation reports are summary of what happened in Joint forces operation zone (previously known as Anti-Terrorist Operation zone or ATO) during the last week. 

Casualties

• Stepanchenko Borys (54th Mechanized Brigade) a soldier. A group of soldiers was ambushed while inspecting a minefield near Popasna. The group of Ukrainian soldiers was forced to retreat under fire but one soldier did not return. His body was found in no man’s land and recovered three days later with the help of OSCE representatives.

Ukrainian helicopter crashed in Lviv region

Mi-8 helicopter of Ukrainian Air Force crashed during a training flight in Lviv region. All people on board died, including 4 members of the crew and the commander of 16th Aviation Brigade.
