New 39th Regiment Formed in the National Guard

The National Guard of Ukraine has formed a new unit, the 39th Regiment. The unit was established on January 15, 2026, and is based in the city of Kropyvnytskyi, Kirovohrad Oblast. The regiment has been assigned military unit number 3117 and is subordinated to the Central Directorate of the National Guard.

The newly formed regiment is tasked with maintaining public order in designated cities and supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine by protecting critical infrastructure. This includes the operation of mobile fire groups working alongside air defense units.
