Madyar’s Birds unit becomes a brigade

The popular drone unit becomes the first drone brigade in the Army.

On December 31, 2024, Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, the commander of the 414th Drone Strike Regiment, announced via his Telegram that the regiment had been expanded into a brigade.

The unit was founded by Ukrainian businessman Robert Brovdi, known by the call sign “Madyar.” On February 7, 2022, he joined the Territorial Defense Forces, where at the beginning of the invasion, he was appointed platoon commander and carried out combat tasks. In April, the unit was transferred to the Kherson direction, where Robert decided to focus on aerial reconnaissance and created “Madyar’s Birds.” On January 16, 2024, the unit was transferred from the 59th Motorized Infantry Brigade to the Ukrainian Naval Forces as the 414th Separate Battalion of Strike Unmanned Aerial Systems. At the end of June 2024, Brovdi announced that the battalion had been expanded into a regiment and reorganized, gaining new structural elements.

What a journey Madyar and his birds had. From Platoon to Brigade. Quite the achievement.
