Luftwaffe Unmanned Systems Unit Expanded to Regiment

The 422nd Battalion of Unmanned Systems “Luftwaffe” has been expanded into a regiment, and is now known as 422nd Regiment of Unammaned Systems “Luftwaffe.” This was revealed by the official social accounts of the unit. The regiment is part of the Ukrainian 17th Army Corps, which is deployed to the Zaporizhzhia axis in the south-eastern Ukraine.

About the unit

422nd Regiment began its combat journey from unit defense volunteer a territorial to the unmanned systems battalion of the 129th Territorial Defense Brigade. The fighters participated in combat operations in the Mykolaiv, Kherson, Avdiivka, Sumy, and Zaporizhia directions. Most of the “Luftwaffe” are civilians who had neither experience in aerial reconnaissance nor military service behind their shoulders.
