Kurash becomes the commander of Kharkiv Corps

Colonel Yevheniy Kurash has been appointed commander of the 16th Army Corps of the Ukrainian Ground Forces. His new role was confirmed by a gift certificate recently issued by the unit and obtained by MilitaryLand.
About the commander
Yevheniy Kurash was born in 1978 in the city of Sumy, Ukraine. He began his career as a platoon commander in the now-disbanded 331st Artillery Regiment and later held positions as a company and battalion commander. In 2005, he took part in a peacekeeping mission in Iraq. By 2014, he was serving as the deputy commander of the 80th Air Assault Brigade and was deployed to Donbas. In 2021, Kurash became the commander of the 25th Airmobile Brigade, leading it during the offensive in Kharkiv Oblast. He left that position in 2023.
