Considering how much man and material Russia can still waste in avdiivka and co. the anonymous US Washington post officials look pretty damn dumb. Just imagine Ukraine would have thrown away some brigades in that attack… and now the 47th can still do a job in avdiivka. Zalushni s and co prudence looks pretty damn right to me.
As always, we understand Ukrainien strategy only after is is proven right.
The WP article is just a narrative to shift the blame, as Philip P. O’Brien said.
Lots of similarities with Bakhmut. Both sides are equally determined to capture/hold Adviivka and throwing a lot of manpower and equipment into what is turning into a new meatgrinder. The only question is whether the end will be the same. I think it will, but it’s just my gut feeling.
Adviivka is a fortress with almost insurmountable defensive positions. The Russian leadership’s obsession with taking the strategically unimportant Adviivka is tantamount to exterminating Russian men.
Bakhmuth was calculated to weaken Wagner. Adviivka is Gerasimov’s Armageddon. His legacy is the greatest loss of soldiers since World War II
