British command prepared a plan in case of Russian invasion to Ukraine. They will not fight.
There are currently more than a hundred British soldiers deployed in a training and advisory roles alongside Canadian and US troops in Ukraine. Despite several hints of possible help, British Army command prepared a plan to evacuate its forces from Ukraine. There is no plan to fight alongside Ukrainian forces.
Most of the British soldiers are stationed at Yavoriv, near Lviv. In case of Russian invasion, they will depart towards the Polish border nearby.
A small team of officers located in Kyiv will also head to the Polish border, most likely through Zhytomyr and Yavoriv. Their path will depend on the situation.
The training cadre in Odesa departed to UK for Christmas a week ago and should come back in January 2022.
British HQ is on permanent standby over Christmas and monitors the situation carefully.
