Border Guards Expand Combat Capabilities with New Brigade
Members of the Kramatorsk Border Guard Detachment have been recognized for their significant contributions to the defense of Ukraine. This detachment has now been expanded and reorganized into the Forpost Brigade, as part of the Offensive Guard initiative aimed at enhancing Ukraine’s border and national defense capabilities. The unit has undergone extensive training both within Ukraine and abroad, with a focus on modern military tactics and coordination. In addition, the unit has received a new insignia. This was announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Ihor klymenko.
The creation of the Forpost Brigade is another step towards developing independently operating border guard units at the brigade level and is part of the ongoing large-scale reform of Ukraine’s Border Guards. The aim of the reform is to develop brigade-level units within the Border Guards to significantly enhance their combat capabilities. These units are being equipped with artillery systems and other necessary tools to conduct combat operations and destroy enemy equipment. In the future, these border guard units will not only defend the border but also take responsibility for securing the contact line, a task that demands highly capable and combat-ready forces.
