The Ukrainian Command has decided to form a new assault engineering brigade within the Support Forces. This newly formed brigade is the first of its kind in the Ukrainian Army, as only traditional engineering brigades have existed until now. The existence of the brigade was revealed by the Ukrainian recruitment server LobbyX.

The unit has been designated as the 49th Assault Engineering Brigade and is under the command of the Support Forces.

Seems to be the reincarnation of the WW2 Soviet idea of assault engineering brigades: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assault_Engineering_Brigades.
My understanding is that the brigade will consist from 3-4 battalions of light infantry skilled in fortifications, mining and demining, with little to no artillery and armored units.
Probably, Ukraine gets ready for a large-scale offensive in 2025.

MilitaryObserve

this brigade was formed on the basis of the 49th assault battalion, which means that the brigade will have experience and maybe other separate battalions will become brigades

I forgot to mention that I assumed.

Bergen

No, this brigade not formed on the basis of the 49 SAB.
