42nd Mechanized Brigade receives BTR-4

The 3rd Mechanized Battalion of the 42nd Mechanized Brigade has received at least one Ukrainian-made BTR-4 armored personnel carrier. The development was revealed via the battalion’s official Facebook page.
According to the published footage, servicemen are currently undergoing intensive training on the BTR-4 platform, as the introduction of new equipment requires both precision and confidence in its operation. The released video shows the unit conducting training at a military training ground, practicing maneuvering and live-fire drills during both daytime and nighttime conditions.
Based on the vehicle’s green paint scheme and intact slat armor, the carrier appears to be newly manufactured.
The 42nd Mechanized Brigade was formed in January 2023. It became the first unit of the Ukrainian Ground Forces to operate Stryker armored vehicles, although these were later reassigned to Air Assault units. The brigade’s core personnel were formed in part from servicemen transferred from the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade.
