160th Brigade appoints new commander

The 160th Mechanized Brigade, which is still in the process of being formed, has undergone a change in leadership. Colonel Volodymyr Babanyn, who had commanded the unit since its inception, has been replaced by Colonel Vyacheslav Husinsky. The leadership transition came to light through a gift certificate issued by the brigade, obtained by MilitaryLand. No official reason has been provided for the change.

Colonel Volodymyr Babanyn voluntarily joined the Armed Forces in 2015 and was assigned to the 8th Motorized Battalion, where he rose to the position of commander in 2018. In 2023, he was appointed chief of staff of the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade. Later that year, he was reassigned to the rear and took over as head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Territorial Recruitment Center. In 2024, he assumed command of the newly formed 160th Mechanized Brigade, but in April 2025, he returned to lead the Ivano-Frankivsk Territorial Recruitment Center once again.

No public information is currently available about the newly appointed commander, Colonel Husinsky.
