150th Mechanized Brigade joins Marines
The 150th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Ground Forces has been reassigned to the marines, specifically under the command of the 30th Marine Corps. This development was revealed through a recently published gift certificate issued by the brigade, which explicitly states its new affiliation with the 30th Marine Corps.
It is the first unit from the Ground Forces to be transferred to the marines. Previously, the 124th and 126th Territorial Defense Brigades from the Territorial Defense Forces were reassigned to the 30th Marine Corps, leaving the structure of the TDF.
The official reasons for the transfer remain unclear. The 150th Mechanized Brigade was established in October 2023 during the summer conscription wave and was among the better-equipped mechanized brigades, utilizing T-64BV tanks alongside BMP-1TS, BVP-2, and BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles. However, the brigade was hastily deployed to Toretsk a few months ago, where it suffered significant casualties. We are currently preparing an article on this topic—stay tuned for more details.
