Known by the call sign “Puhach,” Bohdan Hrishenkov is a Sloviansk-born officer who joined the Azov Regiment in 2015, rising from a regular soldier to a Lieutenant Colonel. He studied at the Ivan Kozhedub National University of the Air Force, majoring in Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electromechanics before his service. He led a company during the 2022 defense of Mariupol, was wounded at Azovstal, and survived the Olenivka prison massacre. After his release in a prisoner exchange, he returned to duty, later commanding the 1st Special Purpose Battalion in 2024. On April 7, 2025, he became commander of the Azov Brigade.
