The commander in reserve
Graduating from the Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi Academy in 2014, he became a lieutenant and platoon commander in the 72nd Mechanized Brigade, deploying to the ATO near Amvrosiivka within a week. In 2015, he took command of the 7th “Mad” Company, leading actions near Starobesheve, Ilovaisk, Starohnativka, and Bila Kamenka, where his 74-man unit held an 8-km defensive line and expelled two enemy companies. From 2016, he led the defense of the “Zenit” strongpoint near Donetsk Airport. He met the full-scale invasion with the 58th Motorized Brigade and in 2022 assumed command of the 45th Rifle Battalion, made up largely of volunteers, holding the line near Novobakhmutivka for 11 months with minimal losses. In 2023, he became Chief of Staff of the 14th Mechanized Brigade, later serving as Acting Chief of Staff of the 65th Brigade until late 2024. In early 2025, he was appointed commander of the 9th Unmanned Systems Brigade.
