The year 2025 was full of surprises, pleasant and unpleasant. Early in the year, I had to migrate our server to a new provider due to ongoing issues with accessibility and performance. Shortly after, and completely unrelated to it, our main X account was hacked and took me a month to regain access. It was a hard start to what is now the previous year.
Other than that, it was another crucial year for MilitaryLand, full of changes on our site and Discord. Early in 2025, we introduced a new unit page design, which was received positively among our community. In summer 2025, we launched an Equipment database, which contains almost all equipment used by Ukrainian forces, and they are linked to our Unit database. If you’ve ever wondered what units use M1 Abrams, for example, you don’t need to look anywhere else—just check the vehicle listing on our site.
At the end of 2025, our Discord server underwent a reshuffle of channels in order to better support our community. As for our website, two major things happened quietly, but you likely noticed them. First, our website is now available in Ukrainian language. Our analytics in 2025 revealed growing visitors from Ukraine, slowly succeeding all but English-speaking visitors. The introduction of Ukrainian language was a logical step—we are about Ukrainian units after all.
Secondly, we opened to the public the database of commanders. This is something that’s very early now, and contains only a dozen commanders, but we aim to continue working on that. We see commanders as very closely related to Ukrainian units, and it is something I always wanted to have.
Our MilitaryLand contributors team has grown in 2025 and welcomed several new volunteers on board. I am very grateful for these additions, as they help together with already existing contributors to shape and make MilitaryLand what it is today. A thank you to each of you for your invaluable contributions—davomme, Fisken, Cossack, Jeff, sirdo, Dikobraz, Duraendal, nerdik123, zero Sero and Giubbi.
Equally important are our Discord moderators—EnaxTM, Cossack, Dikobraz, Evvuut, and Serveza—who help foster the vibrant community we’ve built over the years. If you’re interested in Ukrainian Defense Forces and want to be part of the conversation, our Discord community is open and we will be more than happy to have you onboard.
