Українська армія продовжує зростати
Командування вирішило сформувати дві додаткові механізовані бригади та один елітний підрозділ.
Напередодні довгоочікуваного контрнаступу української армії, спрямованого на звільнення своєї землі, ми дізналися, що українська армія формує дві нові механізовані частини - 42-гу механізовану бригаду та 43-тю механізовану бригаду. Крім того, Десантно-штурмові війська, еліта української армії, також поповнюються новим полком.
42-а механізована бригада нова механізована бригада Сухопутних військ Збройних сил України, яка наразі перебуває на стадії формування. Бригада, ймовірно, була сформована на базі окремого стрілецького батальйону.

43-тя механізована бригада ще одна свіжа українська механізована бригада. Підрозділ наразі формується, можливо, на базі окремого стрілецького батальйону.

78-й полк ім. Герца елітний підрозділ, спочатку сформований 24 лютого 2022 року як окрема рота спеціального призначення Національної гвардії України, а згодом перепідпорядкований Головному управлінню розвідки та розширений до зведеного загону. У квітні було прийнято рішення про розширення підрозділу до полку під командуванням Десантно-штурмових військ Збройних Сил України.

I’d like to say “great!” but I still don’t see how Ukraine can equip half of the new 20 brigades they already announced so far. I hope they are geting more equipment than what is officially announced (and which is not a lot).
I believe that the upcoming offensive will provide them with some more “donated” ork equipment and munitions.
On another note, their formation and training as a battalion is important, equipment will come.
Some countries like France do not wish to say everything about the weapons and equipment deliveries… Keep it secret it is better for everyone … I’m sure that only half of the deliveries are public … See France sent AKERON missiles secretly for example, it should have been kept secret until Ukr Soldiers saw the efficiency of the weapon
Yes, there are some weapons that “appear” on the battlefield without being announced.
But the main reason France does not say too much about the weapons they give is because they only provide small numbers. 18 caesars, 14 AMX-10 RC, an unknown numbers of VAB (but probaly only 40) the numbers are quite low compared to what UK (a similar military power) is providing to Ukraine.
I often think the same, but don’t forget all the stuff Ukraine was able to capture from the russians. Plus support units, like logistics and maintenance don’t really need military garde vehicles. Modified civilian vehicles with military markings should do the job well enough.
I would take it for granted that Ukraine’s allies are not publishing complete inventories of every weapon they send.
Not every brigade get a tank battalion: 13 Jager most likely will have only tank company. Then look: 2 battalions on Leopard, 3 battalions on czech T-72, 2 battalions on PT-91, 47 mechanized brigade obtained Slovenian T-55, 37 marine brigade obtained French AMX-10. Brigade like 41, 42 will most likely wait for Leopard 1. Not all brigade will obtain IFV. A lot brigade will use M113, MRAP etc.
Mech brigades are supposed to have a tank batallion. Air assault brigades have only a tank company, Jager brigades don’t have any tank unit (according to Militaryland information).
But tanks are not the main problem. IFV are. And replacing them by MRAP or APC means they will have less firepower to support the infantery.
Anyway, we’ll see in the next months what will happen.
More than 80%of losses are from caliber 82 mm and more. The most important to have mobility for infantry, and MRAP and APC solve this problem very well. But without tanks and artillery could be a problem.
So, with infantry mechanization at all not a problem. So we have 9 brigade totally equipped. Than Ukraine had before 2022 more then 1300 tanks on conservation. Half of them was T-64A, but other half it was T-64B, T-72, T-80 some part of these tanks could be restored. Ukraine spends billions dollars on weapons, but we don’t know much about where this money goes.
