154-та механізована бригада отримала автомобілі М1117
154-та механізована бригада Сухопутних військ Збройних сил України отримала американські бронеавтомобілі M1117, про що повідомив офіційний представник бригади соціальні мережі. Згідно з повідомленням, ці машини використовуються для підготовки до штурмових операцій, що свідчить про те, що вони слугуватимуть бойовими машинами піхоти щонайменше для одного механізованого батальйону.
Рішення про передачу бронетранспортерів М1117 механізованим підрозділам підкреслює прикру нестачу належних бойових машин піхоти в нових механізованих бригадах. Незважаючи на це, українська армія продовжує формувати додаткові механізовані підрозділи.

Zelensky is Ukraine’s main problem. He got rid of Zaluzhny who was competent but had a big flaw: he was more popular than him.

You blamed an Ukrainian -Zelensky-, calling him “Ukraine’s main problem” when the main problem is obviously the Russian invasion.

I have questioned the structure/usefulness of the Ukrainian military command already 10 months ago (in this article of my blog).
My opinion is that there are indeed problems on the operational level. Those problems should have been solved 2 years ago, but they haven’t, and may even be worse today.
But those Ukrainian mistakes are not the main problem – insufficient western support is.
You can also read Col. Michel Goya’s take on the structure of the Ukrainian armed forces (also in french, but automatic translation is OK). He pinpoints the issues and the things Ukraine has to do, and add his historic POV (he is an historian and former military commander).

Surely what you write in the blog is a current problem … even in Kursk the units participated at the battalion level not at the brigade level.

The World needs to do more to help these wonderful people. I am from Mississippi in the USA, and everyday it breaks my heart to see what the terrorist country of russia is doing to Ukraine. We pray for Ukraine everyday.

No, i was obviously not serious. I understand however that this kind of humor is not everybody’s cup of tea. I’m not an ukrainian, so what should i be thankful for? The M1117 are meant for patrolling and were/are used by US Military Police, they don’t use them in a IFV/APC role. They still send them to Ukraine, who will have to use them in that role it is not meant for.
At the same time, the US has about 2000 Bradley Fighting Vehicles in storage and is scraping some of them. They have an active production-line. Same with the Abrams, more then 3000 in storage, active production-line. They are selling them to Bahrain, Romania and others but Ukraine only gets 31? M1117s are at least better then the Humvees, i guess.
Shame on Biden. That’s embarrassing for USA. I am a USA Navy veteran and embarrassed by what we have delivered to Ukraine. Example, 31 tanks. You have got to be kidding me. So stupid on our part when innocent people are dieing everyday from being bombed while they are in a hospital, children, women, men, doctors, nurse’s, firemen and more. God please forgive us for not doing more.
