He began his military service in 2008, taking part in manoeuvres in Crimea against the backdrop of Russia’s invasion of Georgia. At the start of the Russo-Ukrainian War, he was deployed to the Donetsk Oblast as part of the Anti-Terrorist Operation and defended the Kramatorsk airfield. From 2019 onwards, he took part in the Joint Forces Operation. He emphasised the importance of training soldiers under his command. In 2021, he undertook enhanced military and physical training at the Kryvyi Rih Lyceum and the Air Defence Faculty of the Ukrainian Ground Forces at the Kharkiv Air Force University. He graduated from the National Defence University of Ukraine in 2023.
At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he fought to liberate the Kherson Oblast and later fought in the Battles for Bakhmut and Soledar, managing to escape encirclement. Several months later, he participated in counteroffensive operations in Zaporizhzhia. In 2024, he was appointed commander of the 82nd Air Assault Brigade, helping to defend against the Russian advance into Kharkiv Oblast. The brigade played a crucial role in this operation, after which it participated in the Kursk Offensive, which later turned into a defensive operation. Before this, he had served in the 25th Airborne Brigade, the 46th Air Assault Brigade, and the 81st Air Assault Brigade. In April 2025, he became commander of the 8th Air Assault Corps of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces.
