Про підрозділ

46-а аеромобільна бригада is a unit of the Air Assault Forces.

The unit was formed in December 2016 as the 46th Air Assault Brigade. The unit participated throughout multiple tactical exercises and eventually deployed to Donbas.

However, in 2020, the brigade was demobilized, and a skeleton crew remained in the event of needing to be remobilized. On February 16, 2022, soldiers of the brigade participated in a tactical live fire exercise in Donetsk Oblast in the wake of tensions building up on the Russo-Ukrainian border and an uptick in activity along the Donbas frontline.

On the eve of the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine, three battalion tactical groups formed on the basis of the 25-та повітряно-десантна, 79th Air Assault, 81st Airmobile, і 95th Air Assault Brigades participated in the defense of Makariv and Kyiv; these groups later served as the basis of the 46th Airmobile Brigade.

In parallel, additional forces of the brigade were trained in Britain as part of an initiative to provide Ukrainian soldiers with training in line with Western standards.

In December 2022, the brigade was awarded “For Courage and Bravery” by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

In April 2025, the brigade received the honorary title “Podilska”, becoming the 46th Airmobile Podilska Brigade. That same month, they would also be assigned under the command of the newly formed 8-й десантно-штурмовий корпус, the second unit of its type within the Air Assault Forces.

The insignia depicts a traditional chevron with a maroon field and silver border. The maroon represents the Air Assault Forces, while the silver symbolizes purity, wisdom, and nobility. At its center is a silver barbute helmet, symbolizing combat power. Flanking it are mirrored golden wings representing speed of movement, air mobility, and agility on the battlefield.

He began his military career in 2010, completing his military service with the 95th Airmobile Brigade. He later graduated from the Military Academy in Odesa and participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation in eastern Ukraine.
