53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade is a military unit of mechanized troops of Ground Forces of Ukraine. The brigade was formed in the fall of 2014 to reinforce Ukrainian combat capabilities after the Russian annexation of Crimea and invasion of Donbas.
On the eve of Russian full-scale invasion, the unit was deployed on the front near Volnovahka in Donetsk Oblast.
