
Kyiv Regiment (Полк Київ) is special purpose police unit located in Kyiv. The unit was formed from volunteer battalions Kyiv-1, Kyiv-2, Zoloti Vorota, Sich and St. Mary. In 2016, St. Marie ceased to exist and its members were transferred to other companies within the unit. Kyiv Regiment tasks are the protection of public order in liberated cities in Donbas, Luhansk and Kyiv region and protection of important facilities.

1st Company “Kyiv-1”
The battalion was formed from Maidan volunteers in 2014. All equipment was bought through donations. The unit has close ties with political party People’s Front.

2nd Company “Kyiv-2”
Volunteer unit, formed by members of Maidan Self-Defense, mainly Afgan veterans and radical movement C14.

Avdiivka

In July 2014, Ukrainian forces liberated Avdiivka. Separatist forces launched many unsuccessful attacks towards the city. Latest fighting is concentrated around nearby industry zone.
